Established in 1872

Greenwood Cemetery Company is organized and chartered as a perpetual care Cemetery (organized 1865).  By the terms of that Charter with the State of Tennessee, the Cemetery Company deposits 20% of the sale price of every lot sold and 10% of the sale price of each mausoleum crypt or niche in the Perpetual Care Trust Fund, custodially held and managed by a certified bank in the State of Tennessee.  The principal of these funds is held intact forever and is invested in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee to produce income used for the perpetual care and beautification of the cemetery.
